Relevant. Thought-provoking. Basic.

'Nail Bomber: Manhunt' highlights the ever real threat that extremist groups pose in the United Kingdom, by recounting the attacks by David Copeland on Black, Bangladeshi and Gay communities in London in 1999. It draws Netflix-scale attention to a lesser-reported and remembered terror attack. It also left me with many questions. However, those questions were mainly ‘so who are they then?’ and ‘what do they have to do with these attacks?’. For some reason, Daniel Vernon neglected to include the ubiquitous name titles for contributors to this documentary. Whether this was in an attempt to create a documentary that does not spoon-feed the audience with information or not, it lead to much confusion. I found it distracting from what were otherwise quite organic and engaging interviews. This Tab article (https://thetab.com/uk/2021/05/28/nail-bomber-manhunt-netflix-now-207352) is a sort of ‘who’s who’ for some of the documentary contributors, which I would advise reading beforehand. At an hour and 13 minutes, it is rather direct, which will be refreshing for those who are tired of the unbearable ‘suspense’ built by other true-crime documentaries. 'Nail Bomber' is informative, but not particularly challenging.
